International Congress "Biometrics, Administrative Law and Data" organized by the Public University of Navarra
Pablo García Mexía is one of the distinguished speakers at the International Congress "Biometrics, Administrative Law and Data" on November 7th and 8th, 2024. An event that specifically addresses the relationship between biometrics, its regulation by Administrative Law and the protection of personal data, combining theoretical and practical perspectives.
The conference, organized by the Public Administration Research Group of the Public University of Navarra, through the Research Project "Biometrics, Administrative Law and Data-BIODATA", is supported by the State Research Agency, the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). In addition, entities such as Veridas and the Government of Navarra-Nafarroako Gobernua collaborate.
Throughout the event, the general framework of artificial intelligence and its regulation is analyzed, as well as biometric systems in Spain and in the context of comparative law, with examples from Italy and France. Specialists put special emphasis on the implications for citizens' rights and the protection of personal data.
In his speech, Pablo García Mexía contributes his experience and vision on these highly relevant issues, with special attention to the Artificial Intelligence Regulation and its practical possibilities. The congress concludes with a reflection on the future of artificial intelligence, analyzing its ethical and fundamental rights implications.
